RAC team members including John Till, Helen Grogan, and Emily Caffrey attended the Fifty-Fifth Annual Meeting of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) on April 1 and 2, 2019, in Bethesda, MD. The theme of this year’s annual meeting was “Providing Best Answers to Your Most Pressing Questions About Radiation”.
Topics examined during the five meeting sessions included health issues related to manned space missions, fundamentals of the dose-risk relationship, epidemiological data regarding low radiation exposure and cataracts and circulatory diseases, NCRP’s role in providing emergency response guidance, and current radioactive waste disposal issues. Dr. C. Norman Coleman presented the Sixteenth Annual Warren K. Sinclair Keynote Address, and Dr. André Bouville delivered the Forty-Third Lauriston S. Taylor Lecture. The Third Thomas S. Tenforde Topical Lecture was delivered by Dr. Genevieve S. Roessler.
