RAC specializes in the development of customized software for environmental data management and analysis, environmental transport modeling, and dose and risk assessment. We do not believe in forcing off-the-shelf applications to fit a situation. Therefore, we frequently develop computer models to ensure the computer tool is tailored to answering the client’s needs. This approach is possible because RAC team members are not only skilled in the science of risk assessment, but also in computer programming, database development, and GIS applications. The net result is a product that gets to the heart of the client’s issue and that addresses the complete product life-cycle beginning with the software requirement specifications, to the system design and installation plans, and finally to the testing and acceptance phases.
RAC’s experience in the analysis of large and diverse data sets led to our development of a multifaceted approach that combines a comprehensive database with data query applications, geographic information system (GIS) mapping functionality, temporal and spatial data analysis tools, and reporting and export functionality accessible through a hosted web site. RACER©, or Risk Analysis, Communication, Evaluation, and Reduction, is an innovative approach developed by RAC that converts environmental data directly to human health risk to facilitate and enhance decision making and communication about risks from chemicals and radionuclides in the environment.
